NETWORK ATTACHED PUBLISHING – CONTINUED
End users can simply use the provided Rimage Producer Suite software. They can
assemble their data (documents, audio, or video), design their disc image graphic – and
simply send their job to the queue. The software locates the DLN5200 on the network and
submits the job for burning and printing. The user is notified when the job is complete. In
addition, the user can monitor the publishing queue to interactively track the job process.
Finally, the embedded PC can be accessed directly by attaching a monitor, keyboard and
mouse (optionally available) to the back of the DLN5200 itself. This is simple and
convenient for setup – but is not recommended for day-to-day operation to minimize the
risk of potential system corruption by unauthorized users. The Network Appliance concept
should discourage casual usage of the DLN5200 for non-publishing needs and as a result
should increase the availability and reliability of the system itself.
EASY TO ACCESS FROM ANY NETWORKED WINDOWS PC OR MACINTOSH:
The Rimage Producer suite client software provides full publishing access to any
networked Windows PCs and Macintosh computers. The client software is compatible with
Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows XP and MAC OS 10.2. Any networked
Macintosh running QuickDisc (included) can output directly to the DLN5200 (or DL5200
with Host PC attached). Please refer to the Rimage Advanced Setup Guide for further
details on how to configure and network Macintosh computers.
